Abstract:

SACRED (SCIENCE) is one of the traditionalists' principles among them some philosophers like Sayyed Hossein Nasr, Frithjof Schuon, and Rene Guenon can be noted. Having this principle, a theory of (SCIENCE), and a religious theory in general an Islamic one in particular, can be explained and reconstructed. This reconstruction reveals that traditionalists can be considered as advocates of religious (SCIENCE). In this paper, concepts like SACRED (SCIENCE), and tradition and traditionalism are explained, criteria of classification of religious (SCIENCE)'s theories are mentioned, and theories of religious (SCIENCE) are analyzed as minimal, maximal, and median ones, and also as reductive, established, and mixed theories. Reconstruction of traditionalists' account shows despite of differences among scholars' view, it is possible to accept religious (SCIENCE) in a reductive approach based on SACRED (SCIENCE), and traditional (SCIENCE)s can be shown as examples of religious (SCIENCE). Particularly, it can be said, in Sayyed Hossein Nasr's view, (SCIENCE)s with Islamic attributes are realized, and they have to be recognized in contemporary age, in other words, Islamic (SCIENCE)s must be revived.

Abstract:

Dr. Seyyed Hossein Nasr, the greatest living traditionalist philosopher in contemporary world, has defined a fundamental element as a principle for Sophia Perennis which is metaphysical distinction between Intellectus and Ratio. To him, The SACRED KNOWLEDGE is the fruit of Divine Intuitive Intelligence but (SCIENCE) or Modern Philosophical Schools is the result of human Rational Faculty, thus distinguishes The SACRED KNOWLEDGE, by clarification of its inherent essence, from Philosophy. According to him, the Ratio is the reflection and reverberation of Universal Intellect upon human mind and thus the logical rationalization is purely the formal and exterior expression of The Subject from experience of The Object which is metaphysical Reality and is prior to Ratio and Subject Itself who processing the act of Reasoning. The outcome of Nasr’ s argumentum is the ‘ Illuminative’ and Donated characteristics of SACRED KNOWLEDGE which diffuses from Universal Origin upon the human Hearts, the seat of Intelligence, unlike philosophy which is attainable by acquisition. Mystically speaking, the SACRED KNOWLEDGE is as ‘ State’ and not as ‘ Station’ , thus it is considered as ‘ The Bestowals’ not ‘ The Earnings’ . Referring to the essential works by Nasr and other Traditionalists, in this article which has been done in analytical-descriptive method, first we analyze the metaphysical principles of the SACRED KNOWLEDGE which is the Traditional Oriental Metaphysics both in East and West and then study its relationship with Philosophy and Theology.

Abstract:

Seyyed Hossein Nasr is one of the most influential contemporary traditionalists, who has provided the major criticism of ideas about modernity. Modern (SCIENCE) is one of the most important achievements of modernity that has been criticized through Nasr thought. Nasr approach to modern (SCIENCE) does not stop merely at the level of criticism, but he tries to introduce an alternative to modern (SCIENCE) which is named the traditional KNOWLEDGE that he believes there is an unbreakable link with SACRED and religious beliefs. Nasr tries to explain the concept of traditional KNOWLEDGE through distinction between traditional KNOWLEDGE with modern (SCIENCE) as it is formulated. This paper examines Nasr approach to criticize and review the book "The Need for SACRED (SCIENCE)" which shows that the concept of traditional KNOWLEDGE has no historical authenticity. Merely nostalgic reaction to the development of modern (SCIENCE) and demythologization consequences of the status quo and modern Brjvam relations have been in the face of the crisis. Survey shows that the philosophical foundations of the traditional KNOWLEDGE provided by Nasr are inconsistent with the nature of historical (SCIENCE)s. But from a negative approach, it is against the ontological, epistemological, and methodological principles of the (SCIENCE).

Abstract:

Seyyed Hussein Nasr believes that (SCIENCE) and religion were complemented and divine in ancient ages. In middle ages they were divine also but in new ages and Contemporary centuries. He says that real (SCIENCE) is not the contrast with real religion and the study of SACRED (SCIENCE) and real religion is one of the fascinating areas of human inquiry. In this case, the particular concern of this paper is to explore the interface of (SCIENCE) and religion.

Abstract:

Adopting a rigid perspective toward post Cartesian modernity, traditionalists have referred to a type of KNOWLEDGE which has a supernatural quality and is related to degrees of existence. Rejecting the efficacy of experience and argument which are considered pivotal to post-renaissance epistemology, they assume that intuitive KNOWLEDGE is the main source of intellect and getting access to truth. Intuitionism in traditionalism moves beyond methodology. It seems that we are facing a sort of paradigm shift which tries to change the established assumptions. The present article deals with the issue of whether the SACRED KNOWLEDGE could basically be called KNOWLEDGE or not. To answer this question, we examine the two necessary elements of KNOWLEDGE, truth and justification. Theconclusion is that most of traditionalists’ claims are irrational and have no justification. The realization of this KNOWLEDGE in the contemporary modern world appears unrealistic.

Abstract:

The present paper is aimed at offering a model based on KNOWLEDGE management to promote the SACRED Defense culture. In fact, the paper attempts to answer this question: On the basis of which KNOWLEDGE management model can the SACRED Defense culture be promoted? To answer this question, the existing KNOWLEDGE management literature was reviewed and four hypotheses with the independent variables of "Socialization, externalization, internalization and synthesization were developed. This research was carried out using the descriptive-survey method and its population included those who were familiar with both KNOWLEDGE management and the SACRED Defense and its values. The subjects were selected on the basis the random cluster sampling method. The data was collected through a researcher-made questionnaire which included 24 items and the Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient of the questionnaire items was 0.86. The data was analyzed by one-tailed t-test and the main findings are as follows: the Nonaka and Takeuchi model is a desirable approach for the promotion of the SACRED Defense culture. According to this model, socialization hypothesis has the highest influence and the other hypotheses are internalization, synthesization and extemalization, respectively. The basic finding of the present study is that to promote the SACRED Defense culture, we need to create a sense of cooperation among individuals using social theories.

Abstract:

In mythological texts, Kayumars is introduced as the first man, prophet and the first king. In Farsi and Arabic texts remaining from the first centuries after Islam, often he is introduced as the first King. It seems that this side of Kayumars’ character could be the remnants of the narratives and informal and non- governmental Khodaynamehs prior to Islam which was most common in the Eastern Iran and to which one has no access. Also in Zoroastrian books left behind from the last centuries of the Sassanid reign and the first centuries after Islam which was written in Pahlavi language, Kayumars appears as the first man created by Ahuramazda and upon his acceptance of the Mazdaei religion, he brings salvation to the mankind. However it must be taken into account that all these narratives are the outcome of the thought processes of the official writers and priests in the Sassanid era. The heroic narratives in the eastern Iran which recognizes Kayumars as the first king in the Pishdadi dynasty are not far from the priests’ narratives in the western Iran in terms of time. Now the question arises that whether these narratives in the earlier times were as such? Was Kayumars regarded as the first creature, created by the Ahuramazda in those first days? This article attempts to put forward a theory in which Kayumars is part of the mythological archetype of the SACRED marriage between the “God of heavens” and the “Goddess of the Earth” that caused the growth of plants or birth of humans from the Earth’s core and it is believed that Kayumars in this ancient myth, is the name of the seed from the God of the heavens.

Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to examine two conceptions of KNOWLEDGE: traditional and modern. One of the important discussions of traditionalism is to put emphasis on traditional (SCIENCE)s and their roles. These (SCIENCE)s have been neglected since the renaissance, especially in the modern world.Modern scciences have a significant role in the foundation of modern thoughts, so they are admired by modernists and are considered as the feature of the modern western civilization. Modern (SCIENCE)s based upon this modern scientific paradigm have got serious repercussions that cause serious criticism.Traditionalists, as one of the critics, believe that their most important flaws is their separation from traditional (SCIENCE)s while pointing out the differences between traditional and modern (SCIENCE)s.They acKNOWLEDGE the SACRED (SCIENCE) based on the pivot of sanctity and realization through intuition and its respect towards truth. On the other hand, modrn (SCIENCE)s are separated from the SACRED one and are based on profanity, rather than on intellect while its main aim is utilization rather than truth.
